This particular vantage point of the dam wall has been photographed numerous times, which is understandable as it gives an astonishing perspective of the wall. For us local Zimbabweans it is quite iconic as it used to appear on our 2 dollar note or more recently our 50 trillion dollar note.

Not of the grand scale of churches in Europe, this little church gives more in its history than of its’ size. It is dedicated to Saint Barbara who is known as the patron saint of engineers and construction workers. The workers and engineers who built the Kariba dam wall built this extraordinary round church.
